Kel McGowan is Kelligrafie
So I resigned up to Pottermore and my first decision was what name I would choose. Seeing as Pottermore is designed to protect people who weren't even born when the books came out (and really shouldn't be on the internet at all in my humble opinion - that's just asking for cyber bullying and your child to be exposed to all manner of bad influences) we're not given complete free reign over our names. Rather they give you a choice of five generic generated names and you have to choose. Here were my options. I did initally dither between MirrorQueen7749 and NightShield24655 but eventually chose OwlFlame4316. Cos I'm a fiery bird innit!
Extra insights to Privet Drive and Measurements in the Wizarding World.
Collected alarm clock.
There's a blackboard which spins between 1531 and 4157. Mysterious.
Extra insight into Vernon & Petunia Dursley.
Made the glass on the Boa Constrictor cage vanish.
Collected postcard, hammer and nails, salt and pepper and seashells.
Collected chipped teacup.

Opened Gringotts account 500 Galleons.
Bought school text books, cauldron (pewter, standard size 2) glass phials, telescope and brass scales.
Chose my Hogwarts pet, a Harlequin Toad. Seeing as I wanted that last time but I'd already chosen the black cat. I hadn't seen that there was a second page of pets available. Never mind, now I have both! The Harlequin Toad is a very beautiful toad actually, plus there is the benefit that nobody else really chooses toads for Hogwarts and if I need to post an owl I can always use one of the school ones.
Now I'm choosing my wand... or rather, letting the wand choose me. I have to answer some questions honestly.
I would describe myself as average height for my age.
I dither over my eye colour. I've always thought of myself as blue eyed but there's the options of blue/grey and blue/green. I'm definately not bright blue so opt for blue green.
I was born on the 11th so I'm an 'odd day'.
Do I most pride myself on my: determination, imagination, resilience, intelligence, originality, optimism or kindness? Imagination.
I'm on a deserted road and reach a crossroads, do I continue towards the sea, towards the forest or towards the castle? Forest.
Do I most fear: darkness, fire, heights, small spaces or isolation? Isolation.
Select an artefact: ornate mirror, silver dagger, glittering jewel, bound up scroll, golden key, old black glove or dusty bottle. The scroll.
My wand is Alder with Unicorn hair, ten and 3/4 inches, slightly springy.
Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing.
Alder is an unyielding wood, yet I have discovered that its ideal owner is not stubborn or obstinate, but often helpful, considerate and most likeable. Whereas most wand woods seek similarity in the characters of those they will best serve, alder is unusual in that it seems to desire a nature that is, if not precisely opposite to its own, then certainly of a markedly different type. When an alder wand is happily placed, it becomes a magnificent, loyal helpmate. Of all wand types, alder is best suited to non-verbal spell work, whence comes its reputation for being suitable only for the most advanced witches and wizards.
Collected a prefect badge, Nicholas Flamel chocolate frog card, Morgana chocolate frog card and a sprout flavoured every flavour bean.
Extra insights into toads, Platform 9 and 3/4 and the Hogwarts Express.
I am about to be sorted into my house. Last time I was a Gryffindor. Will I be the same again?! I have a set of questions that require answering.
Which of the following would I hate to be called the most?
Ordinary, selfish, cowardly or ignorant.
I chose Ignorant because it's related to stupidity and dishonesty.
I enter an enchanted garden, which do I examing first?
Silver leafed tree bearing golden apples, a statue of a wizard with twinkling eyes, a bubbling pool with something luminous in it or fat red toadstools that appear to be talking to each other.
I chose the bubbling pool. I have no real interest in gold and jewels so the tree would bore me. the wizard statue is clearly a bad magician encased in the statue and I have no desire to release him and his dark magic upon the world. Toadstools are poisonous, duh kids. The bubbling pool has water which is pure... and there's something shiny in there. Wooo shiny.
What do I find most difficult to deal with?
Hunger, cold, loneliness or bordeom.
I chose bordeom because I'm adept at ignoring hunger, I like solitude and I dress really well for the weather so the cold won't have a chance to affect me.
What am I most looking forward to studying at Hogwarts?
Apparation, transfiguration, flying on a broomstick, hexes and jinxes, magical creatures, secrets about the castle or every area of magic.
I chose flying on a broomstick. Granted I'll probably be motion sick but what the heck. Broomsticks dude! Flying!
One of my housemates cheated in an exam and Professor Flitwick asks me if he did? What do I do?
Lie and say I don't know but hope someone else tells Flitwick, tell Flitwick to ask the housemate and tell my housemate if he doesn't own up I'll tell Flitwick, tell Flitwick the truth or tell Flitwick the truth before he asks me.
I tell the truth when he asks me. To be honest Flitwick appears to be an absolute brick of a teacher and cheating on an exam? That's pathetic.
Which potion would you invent, something that guarantees you:
Love, glory, wisdom or power.
I chose Wisdom. I don't want glory or power if I've not earnt it and power without wisdom is folly. If I can't gain someone's love by being myself then I don't want their affections.
Four goblets are placed before me, which do I drink?
Foaming frothing silvery liquid that sparkles, smooth purple drink that smells like chocolate and plums, golden liquid that makes sunspots in the room or a mysterious black liquid that gleams like ink and gives off fumes that make me see strange visions.
I chose the purple chocolate drink. The chocolate did it for me ha! I'm now actually off to get some hot chocolate and lemon curd on toast. Yummy.
A troll is about to destroy irreplaceable items, what do I save first?
Cure for dragon pox, 1000 years of student records or handwritten book of runes that may have belonged to Merlin.
Well the cure for dragon pox first. Doesn't sound uber serious, but you know, loads of kids will be grateful to me. Then 1000 years of student records. Well, if I'd handcopied those out, I'd want them saving. Runes that might have belonged to Merlin? Well they might not, so, not important.
Which would I most like to study?
Centaurs, goblins, merpeople, ghosts, vampires, werewolves or trolls.
Ghosts for sure.
Muggle confronts me and says they know I'm a witch. Do I?
Ask why they're so sure, ask and threaten to jinx them, agree and walk away to bluff them or tell them you're worried for their mental health and offer to call a doctor.
Bluff them. "You think I'm a witch? Y'ok."
Forest or river?
Forest. I think there's a definate predictablity factor that it has over the river here.
Left or right?
To be awkward.
