I've found a really great youtube channel to subscribe to. I'm a big fan of makeup tutorials. But alas! Only to watch, not to attempt because I wear glasses. This is problematic for a couple of reasons.
1. I'm blind as a bat (short sighted) so the looks are hard to physically apply because my face is too blurry in the mirror! Although when applying eyeliner I can rest my finger on my mirror to steady it. There are benefits to being a speccy!
2. The fact I wear glasses already emphasises my eye area and if I apply a dramatic 'look' it can be too much so I find minimal eyeshadow, liner (lower lids only) and mascara tend to be my limit. Which is frustrating because I would love to experiment and do something really artistic.
So I have to live my makeup dream through various youtubers. I'm already a massive fan of Panacea81 (Lauren) and MissChievous (Julia).
Today I discovered KlaireDelysArt and if you love makeup which leans towards a more arty background then this is the channel for you. There's a range of nail and makeup looks. Also some really cool hand art ideas. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check her channel.
There's some great practical tips for applying the makeup. If you check the links in the video descriptions she's also got a blog, which shows what the makeup looks like against other eyes colours. I think that's very useful and I don't know if I've seen any other youtubers that do that.
I've picked out a few videos for you to watch. If you like them, check out her channel and subscribe. The first one is Lace Eyes and reminds me of the film The Black Swan (Natalie Portman). If you ever had to do a performance of Swan Lake this would be a good look to go with your costume.
The second video I've chosen was the first video I watched and it's Acid Leopard. It's very festival and summery. Probably not right for this time of year but a great video nonetheless!
