This is the edit of the post that I wrote yesterday quickly in the cyber cafe. I only had 30 minutes and plus their internet really needs an upgrade. Put it this way, it's that far behind their computers can only handle the MOBILE version of twitter.
Anyway, McFly were performing in Oxford Circus yesterday as part of the VIP shopping weekend. It meant that traffic in Oxford Street and the surrounding area was banned. Also that various celebrities (I'll let you determine the grading of each 'celeb') would be lending a hand and serving customers in shops. For example, Arg from The Only Way Is Essex was in Superdrug. They also had Ben from Jesus Christ Superstar, Konnie Huq and a Hollyoaks actress in other shops.
Now obviously, I don't live in London. I live about 200 miles away in God's own county, Yorkshire. And because I'm stuck to using public transport, it meant that in order to be at an 11:30am gig in London, I had to leave my house at 12:45am. To get the train to Leeds, to get the coach to London via Birmingham. The things we do for them four!
Won't lie though, I'd had nightmares about a Party In the Park sized event with thousands of people, all running for the stage. Done enough of that to hate it.
I managed to get barrier in front of Tom luckily. And we all settled down to wait in that fine rain that soaks you through. Plus occasional snowflake. Nobody could work out if it was proper sleet, or fake snow. Didn't matter, either way we were still slowly turning into drowned rats. And then all of a sudden a TV camera and a million photographers suddenly appeared in the stage pit so that nobody could see the stage. McFly... were on the verge of appearing. And I had nobody to hold me upright and share my feels. So I stood there shaking, directing my feels at nobody in particular.
≧°◡°≦ Oh, wow. Sweet sensai of ninja turtles, where did THAT come from? The days suit selection was the brown tartan-y jackets and trousers, with black tie and black-and-white shoes. McFly played 5 Colours In Her Hair, Rockin' Robin, All About You, Obviously and Love Is Easy. This seems to be their 'winter set' so they'll probably be playing a similar one at the radio gigs they've got lined up in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London and Birmingham in the next month. Nice little combination. Something old, something new, something Rockin, and All About You.
Any then before I knew it, it was all over. McFly were off and away and I was stood there in the rain listening to Arg from TOWIE singing something Christmassy. The comedown had already begun. I made my way to St Pancras to begin my 3 hour wait for the train home. Along the way I reminded myself why Maccy D's and my digestion do not mix. I spent half an hour in the cyber cafe waiting for my weebly to reload every time I typed a paragraph. And I had my owl mittens nicked (btw if you're reading this and it was you that thieved them, I'm sending Liam Neeson after your ass). I've now got my photos up on FACEBOOK if you would like to see them all. I managed to make a cameo on ITN's report of the event. I'm the girl with the rainbow scarf pulling my hood down. I had a ponytail and it kept pushin my hood back so my fringe was getting more sodden by the minute. I'm at 52 seconds and those are the owl mittens that were taken.
