Kel McGowan is Kelligrafie
This fortnight was the turn of the U authors, unfortunately Huddersfield main lending library is/was undergoing renovations and the amount of books to borrow was limited to a portable library van outside. And it wasn't in A-Z order. And U isn't a very popular letter to begin a surname with.
However it was my birthday the other week and my grandma very kindly bought me two Jasper Fforde books, as he's my favourite author. I'm trying to read his Thursday Next books in order. This isn't essential as each of the books in the series are fantastic standalones but then again, if there's any running jokes, you do tend to miss out a little.
So now Thursday is married, has righted the wrongs in Jane Eyre but her past has come back to haunt her in oh so many subtle and obvious ways. Her husband has been removed from existance and it's up to Thursday to get him back.
Thursday has had her first taste of the 'book world' through her 'Eyre Affair' and now she's all set under the watchful eye of Miss Havisham (yes that one) to begin training as a member of Jurisfiction. Confused? Just read the book.
It's a total hoot, disgracefully original and you really need it in your Christmas stocking.
