The BBC recently published a newspiece looking at piracy across the UK. It basically allows you to see which artists are the most pirated in your area, in comparison with the rest of the UK. It uses data collated by musicmetric. If you want to give it a try then you need to go HERE
Ok so I typed in my postcode and according to results collected by musicmetric the most illegally shared artist in Huddersfield is Ed Sheeran. He is 'shared' on average 129 times per month in my town. Also, The Script are shared a lot in Huddersfield when compared with the UK average.
The worst cities for music piracy (shares per person), now I don't know if these are the cities closest to Huddersfield or it's just a general UK ranking, are:
1. Manchester 2. Nottingham 3. Southampton 4. Liverpool 5. Sheffield 6. Leicester 7. Stoke-on-Trent 8. Glasgow 9. Cardiff 10. Leeds
And the most illegally shared artists around the world?

If like me you have NO idea who Billy Van is, his website http://billyvandubstep.com/ describes him as 'Electro Artist and Producer from the Midwest'. Still clueless? Yup, me too.
