Kel McGowan is Kelligrafie
It's currently 6:08pm on 31st December when I started typing this and I'm trying to remember 2012 and look towards 2013 at the same time.
I'll remember 2012 for the giggles I shared with Milia and Hannah in Manchester.
I'll remember it for the galavant to Anglesey with Shiv and Caroline. Where we saw the lighthouse but we didn't find the cottage that was seriously off the beaten track.
I'll remember the 120mph run down to the Navi Inn with Carys and how she asked me to take the wheel when we were doing 70, so she could consult google maps. I, who have never driven in my entire life.
I'll remember Georgiagate with Becky.
I'll remember being put on the Manchester meet & greet blacklist for NO ENTRY. I'll remember chaining myself to railings and waving placards with Shannon. Lyk seriusly gaiz. I'll remember Manchester McFlyer Twister and the knicker flashing it ensued. Plus Hollie's head between Carys' legs. I'll remember Lucy emptying her fag ash into a teapot, classy bird that she is.
I'll remember my discovery of DunnyMcFly and muse on why I never thought up such pure genius myself.
I'll remember those chavs attacking us at Manchester Apollo with Essential R 'n' B.
I'll remember spoilering the Love Is Easy video for real with my blurry picture of the stage that revealed absolutely NOTHING of the video. And discovering Sailor Jerrys for the first time.
I'll remember when someone sent Luke the naked picture of some random women, with an apparent stripping fetish and how I laughed until I nearly blacked out from oxygen starvation.
I'll remember running down the high street in Leeds with Carys looking for The Struts in Republic.
I'll remember freezing to death at BBC Manchester with a snotty Sarah and meeting Abbey for the first time.
I'll remember being proud of The Struts after their (and mine) first gig at Camden Barfly.
I'll remember it snowing when McFly performed at Oxford Street.
I'll remember we lost Davy Jones and Gerry Anderson. These two shaped my childhood in ways you can't even imagine. Thanks to them I experienced great music and great television. They sparked my imagination. The older I get, the more I realise how short life is.
I'll remember 2012 as the year when I calmed down (a little) and grew up (a little). Or my rants became a little less common! I hope I grew more patient and kinder. I hope I learnt how to 'speak to people properly' as my mother would put it.
What would I like for 2013?
I would like to see my friends more, and not just at gigs. More sleepovers, more window shopping, more plans for great things that we will never realistically do but it's fun planning them out anyway. I'd like to read more and go and see all the films I plan to see but never do. I'd like to see DIFFERENT bands and singers at gigs, instead of the same two groups.
I'd like to start drawing and writing more often. I'd like to start and finish at least one book. Stop faffing around with ideas and get something down in black and white for real. I'd like to start baking cakes! Make jewellery, paint, anything that will encourage me to be more creative and less wasteful with my time.
I'd like to be kinder to people. To not assume that they know what I'm talking about automatically and explain myself better. And to think before talking/tweeting!
I'd like the following bands to have amazing, successful albums for 2013: The Struts, Joywride and McFly. I'd like McFly to get back to the music and stop with all the 'extra-curricular activities'.
I'd like to save a bit more money. I'd like to get either a new job or a second job or more hours at another company branch. Which would link nicely in with saving more money.
