Kel McGowan is Kelligrafie
Day 9: Quickly jot down four verbs, four adjectives, and four nouns. Write a poem utilizing all 12 words.
Nouns: car, rock, guitar, water
Verbs: lying, taking, spreading, putting
Adjectives: dry, dusty, red, gritty
This poem isn't written intentionally as though I'm talking 'black' or 'hillbilly', or anything like that. I appreciate it might look like that though. I'm just playing with words. Some of the other challenges I've had to force myself to concentrate but this one came out so quickly and easily. Done within two minutes.
Don'tcha be lying to me, no sirree
Sitting there in your dry, dusty, car
All red and gritty from
Pounding the rock all day
Don'tcha be spreading your venom on me, no sirree
With your smooth guitar and smooth mouth
Putting words of deception into my ears
Like water on sand
I ain't taking no notice of thee, no sirree
Getcha bags and skedaddle
Off on home to your other lady
Or three, as be the case with thee
