Kel McGowan is Kelligrafie
Day 3: Find the nearest book (of any kind). Turn to page 8. Use the first ten full words on the page in a poem. You may use them in any order, anywhere in the poem.
The nearest book to me was my 52AZ read for this week, which is Neptune's Daughter by Beryl Kingston. The first 10 words of page 8 are: it, was, like, being, a, bird, flying, high, and & wild. Great choice of words. I'm really happy with that. Here's what I came up with!
The Dragon Of Fortune
Wild it was
A papery contraction
Through the crowd
By skilful hands
It was flying high
Dancing above our heads
Like a bird
Soaring higher and higher
Welcoming in the new year
A lantern in the night
Taking away our bad dreams
And bringing good fortune
Riding on the crest of its tail
